Tai Chi Easy, 6 week series(begins August 30) is a mind-body wellness program that mixes ancient Chinese exercises (qigong), with gentle tai chi chuan (the martial art) movements, meditation, self-massage and breathing practice. Participants remain standing throughout (unless they prefer being seated) and follow the practice leaders simple, flowing movements at their own pace. It is a low impact, simple-to-follow program suitable for people of all fitness levels. The documented benefits are reduced stress and improved balance, coordination, flexibility and muscle tone. Instructor, Susan Flanagan is certified in the Tai Chi Easy program and also in Therapeutic Qigong.
Pilates, 8 week series (begins September 7) improves muscular strength, endurance, flexibility, posture, and balance. Core strength and stabilization are central to Pilates; breathing is connected to movement and focus is on quality of movement rather than quantity. Instructor, Sue Nierendorf has been an active participant in fitness for over 30 years. Sue has taught all types of fitness classes: strength training, Pilates, step aerobics, floor aerobics, stability ball, aqua aerobics and boot camp. Over time she has come to appreciate and value gentler movement classes that blend mind-body awareness with a focus on breathing. Sue is thrilled to be affiliated with an organization devoted to wellness!

Beginners are welcome. Nia Technique and yoga classes are able to accommodate all levels of experience.
